Detailed answer

AIDAmar was built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, delivered in May 2012 and christened in Hamburg the same month. AIDA gives a length of 253 metres and 1,101 guest cabins; Wikipedia gives a gross tonnage of 71,304, about 2,192 passengers and a crew of 620. AIDA sells to German-speaking guests, and German is the language on board. Before the refit the ship had eight restaurants, thirteen bars, six pools and a 2,600 square metre spa. From November to December 2026 it is in Marseille for the AIDA Evolution refit, which adds six suites at the stern, new restaurants including Beach House and East Fusion, a panorama bar and an upgraded spa.

How busy will town be?

The upcoming visits listed on this page show the passengers expected on each call and any other ships in port the same day. Town is busiest when several ships are in at once or a large ship arrives at a weekend. A ship carrying a few hundred passengers makes little difference on its own.

Can you sail on it from nearby?

Yes, from Palma. After the refit AIDAmar sails seven-night western Mediterranean round trips from Palma from Sunday 20 December 2026, Sunday 27 December 2026 and Sunday 3 January 2027, with a 14-night option over Christmas. From Sunday 10 January 2027 it sails from Palma to the Canary Islands, then spends the rest of winter there before summer 2027 in Warnemunde. Booking is through AIDA's German-language channels.
