Detailed answer
Ambience was built by Fincantieri at Monfalcone in Italy and delivered in 1991 as Regal Princess for Princess Cruises. It later sailed as Pacific Dawn for P&O Cruises Australia and briefly as Satoshi, and has been Ambience since 2022. Ambassador gives a gross tonnage of 70,285, a length of 245 metres and room for up to 1,400 guests in 789 cabins; Wikipedia gives a crew of 660. Ambassador sells it to British travellers as an adults-only ship sailing from UK ports, and from the 2027 to 2028 season every Ambassador cruise is adults-only. On board are the Palladium theatre, the Observatory, Raffles Bar, the Purple Turtle pub and the Buckingham Restaurant, with Saffron and Sea & Grass available for a supplement.
How busy will town be?
The upcoming visits listed on this page show the passengers expected on each call and any other ships in port the same day. Town is busiest when several ships are in at once or a large ship arrives at a weekend. A ship carrying a few hundred passengers makes little difference on its own.
Can you sail on it from nearby?
No. All of Ambience's listed departures from October 2026 to December 2027 are round trips from London Tilbury, including a 14-night Spain and Portugal Christmas and New Year cruise from Sunday 20 December 2026. It has no sailings starting or ending in Spain, Portugal or Southampton.
