Detailed answer
Azura was built by Fincantieri at Monfalcone in Italy and handed over to P&O Cruises in March 2010. It has a gross tonnage of 115,055, a length of 290 metres, 3,096 guests at double occupancy (3,597 maximum) and a crew of 1,226. It had an extensive refit in March 2025. P&O markets Azura as a social ship for the whole family, with kids' clubs, 22 bars and restaurants, four pools, the SeaScreen open-air cinema, the Playhouse Theatre, a three-deck Atrium and The Beach House restaurant.
How busy will town be?
The upcoming visits listed on this page show the passengers expected on each call and any other ships in port the same day. Town is busiest when several ships are in at once or a large ship arrives at a weekend. A ship carrying a few hundred passengers makes little difference on its own.
Can you sail on it from nearby?
Yes, from Malaga. Azura no longer sails from Southampton. In winter it runs fly-cruises from Tenerife and from April to October 2027 from Valletta in Malta. In December it sails one way from Tenerife to Malaga, for example from Saturday 12 December 2026 (17 nights, via Lisbon and Cadiz) and Saturday 19 December 2026 (10 nights), ending Tuesday 29 December 2026. A New Year cruise leaves Malaga on Monday 28 December 2026 for Tenerife, calling at Barcelona, Cartagena and Gibraltar. P&O repeats this Malaga pattern in December 2027.
