Detailed answer
Carnival Legend was built by Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Helsinki, Finland, and entered service in 2002. Carnival gives a gross tonnage of 88,500, a length of 963 feet (about 294 metres), 2,124 guests at double occupancy and a crew of 930. Carnival sells it as a family ship, with three supervised youth areas alongside the Serenity Adult-Only Retreat. Features include the Green Thunder waterslide, the RedFrog Pub and Alchemy Bar, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Guy's Burger Joint and the Cloud 9 Spa. A 2024 dry dock added a Chef's Table, the Heroes Tribute Bar and a mini golf course.
How busy will town be?
The upcoming visits listed on this page show the passengers expected on each call and any other ships in port the same day. Town is busiest when several ships are in at once or a large ship arrives at a weekend. A ship carrying a few hundred passengers makes little difference on its own.
Can you sail on it from nearby?
No. The Gibraltar call is part of a 15-night crossing that leaves Civitavecchia, the port for Rome, on Sunday 1 November 2026 and arrives in Tampa, Florida, on Monday 16 November 2026, with stops at Cartagena, Malaga, Gibraltar and Bermuda. It does not start or end in Spain. After the crossing Carnival Legend sails from Tampa, and in 2027 it moves to Seattle and Long Beach with no European season.
