Which Catholic churches are there in Gibraltar besides the cathedral?

Short answer

Besides the Cathedral of St Mary the Crowned, Gibraltar's Catholic churches include St Joseph's, Sacred Heart, St Theresa's, St Paul's, St Bernard's and Our Lady of Sorrows at Catalan Bay, plus the Shrine of Our Lady of Europe at Europa Point. Mass times for all of them are published by the Diocese of Gibraltar.

Detailed answer

Roman Catholics are Gibraltar's largest faith group, and the Diocese of Gibraltar runs a network of churches spread from the town to the east side and the south of the Rock.

Worth knowing

Our Lady of Sorrows is the small village church at Catalan Bay, convenient if you are staying or swimming on the east side. St Bernard's Church on Europa Road serves the south district and is separate from the chapel at St Bernard's Hospital.

The Shrine of Our Lady of Europe is the oldest of these sites, a former mosque converted into a chapel in 1462 and home to a 15th century statue of the Virgin and Child venerated as patroness of Gibraltar. Its regular Mass is on Saturday mornings.

Mass times

The diocese publishes separate winter and summer timetables, and evening Mass times shift between them. Check the Mass and Prayer Times page on catholic.gi before you go. Many Masses are also streamed online through the diocese website.
