Detailed answer

Celebrity Eclipse is a Solstice-class ship built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany. It was delivered in April 2010. Celebrity gives a gross tonnage of 121,878, a length of 1,041 feet (about 317 metres) and room for 2,852 guests, with a crew of about 1,271. Celebrity calls it an award-winning luxury ship and also lists family activities. Its best-known feature is the Lawn Club, about half an acre of real grass on the top deck. There is also the Retreat suite area with its own restaurant and lounge, AquaClass staterooms with dining at Blu, Hot Glass classes and Starlink internet. A refit at Brest in May 2025 added ten staterooms, a new Retreat Lounge and a private Retreat sundeck.

How busy will town be?

The upcoming visits listed on this page show the passengers expected on each call and any other ships in port the same day. Town is busiest when several ships are in at once or a large ship arrives at a weekend. A ship carrying a few hundred passengers makes little difference on its own.

Can you sail on it from nearby?

Yes. Celebrity Eclipse spends autumn 2026 on 10 and 11-night Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona, and the crossing that calls at Gibraltar also starts in Barcelona. In summer 2027 it sails round trips from Amsterdam to Norway, Scandinavia and the British Isles, so it has no sailings from Spanish or Portuguese ports that season.
