When is the Christmas Festival of Lights in Gibraltar in 2026?

Gibraltar Cultural Services organises the evening on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and has issued a save-the-date notice, with more details to follow. The same evening also opens the Christmas fair attractions.

What it was like last year

In 2025 the event was held on Friday 21 November 2025 in Casemates Square with a show called The Elf, the Cat and the Christmas Star. There were two identical performances, at 6.30pm and 8.30pm, each limited to 3,500 people with entry through Market Place. The show used projection mapping, lights, fire, confetti and music, and was organised with the Gibraltar Electricity Authority. The lights then stayed on daily until early January.

Planning ahead

Expect capacity limits and controlled entry again, and arrive early for a good view. The 2026 arrangements will be published by Gibraltar Cultural Services nearer the date.
