Detailed answer

MSC Magnifica was built at Saint-Nazaire in France by the yard now called Chantiers de l'Atlantique and made its maiden voyage in March 2010. Wikipedia gives a gross tonnage of 95,128, a length of 293.8 metres, 2,550 guests at double occupancy and a crew of 1,027. MSC sells to an international, multilingual market. In a dry dock in Malta in late 2025 the ship gained the MSC Yacht Club, a private area with 63 suites, along with the Butcher's Cut steakhouse, the Kaito Sushi Bar, a redesigned Aurea Spa and a Technogym fitness centre.

How busy will town be?

The upcoming visits listed on this page show the passengers expected on each call and any other ships in port the same day. Town is busiest when several ships are in at once or a large ship arrives at a weekend. A ship carrying a few hundred passengers makes little difference on its own.

Can you sail on it from nearby?

Yes, from Barcelona. The Gibraltar call is part of the 121-night MSC World Cruise 2027, which leaves Genoa on Tuesday 5 January 2027 and returns there on Thursday 6 May 2027; MSC lists Barcelona among its embarkation ports. Before that, in late 2026, the ship runs short western Mediterranean cruises that start or end in Barcelona, and it returns to them in November and December 2027. In summer 2027 it sails from Warnemunde and Copenhagen.
