Detailed answer
Nieuw Statendam was built by Fincantieri at Marghera in Italy and delivered to Holland America Line in November 2018. It is the second of the line's three Pinnacle-class ships. It measures 99,902 gross tons and 299.75 metres, carries 2,666 guests at double occupancy and has a crew of about 1,053. The ship is open to all ages, with a kids' club and family staterooms as well as an adults-only pool. Its music venues include the Rolling Stone Lounge, Billboard Onboard and B.B. King's Blues Club, and the restaurants include Morimoto By Sea, the Pinnacle Grill, Sel de Mer and Tamarind. The Lido Pool has a retractable glass roof.
How busy will town be?
The upcoming visits listed on this page show the passengers expected on each call and any other ships in port the same day. Town is busiest when several ships are in at once or a large ship arrives at a weekend. A ship carrying a few hundred passengers makes little difference on its own.
Can you sail on it from nearby?
Not from any of the nearby ports in 2026 or 2027. In Europe it sails from Rotterdam and Dover, and it spends winter 2026 to 2027 in the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale. Holland America is keeping the ship in Europe all year from late 2027, and two voyages leaving Dover and Rotterdam in December 2027 end in Barcelona in January 2028.
