Detailed answer

Renaissance was built by Fincantieri at Monfalcone in Italy and completed in 1993. It sailed as Holland America Line's Maasdam until 2020 and briefly as Aegean Myth, before a refit at Damen Shipyards in Brest for CFC, which began sailing it in June 2023. CFC joined the Ambassador group in 2025 and now trades as Ambassador Croisières. The ship has a gross tonnage of 55,575, a length of about 219 metres and room for a maximum of 1,200 guests, according to the line. It is sold to French-speaking travellers, with a French-speaking crew, and welcomes families as well as solo travellers. Features include a promenade on Deck 6 with cabins opening onto it, the 87 square metre Grande Suite Renaissance with its own terrace, a teak sun deck with pools, and a theatre.

How busy will town be?

The upcoming visits listed on this page show the passengers expected on each call and any other ships in port the same day. Town is busiest when several ships are in at once or a large ship arrives at a weekend. A ship carrying a few hundred passengers makes little difference on its own.

Can you sail on it from nearby?

No sailings starting or ending at Malaga, Cadiz, Seville, Barcelona, Lisbon, Southampton, Valencia or Palma were found for 2026 or 2027. Renaissance sails from Marseille and Dunkerque in France and spends winter in the Caribbean from Pointe-à-Pitre. Some of its cruises call at Lisbon, Cadiz, Valencia, Palma or Barcelona along the way. Bookings and onboard life are in French.
