Detailed answer
Sun Princess was built by Fincantieri at Monfalcone in Italy and made its maiden voyage in February 2024 as the first of Princess's Sphere class. Princess gives a gross tonnage of 177,882, a length of 1,133 feet (about 345 metres), 4,300 guests at double occupancy and a crew of 1,600. It is sold to all ages, with youth areas from six months to teens. Features include The Dome, a glass-roofed pool and show space inspired by Santorini, the glass Sphere above the Piazza, the Princess Arena theatre, Spellbound by Magic Castle and about 30 restaurants and bars, plus the largest casino in the Princess fleet.
How busy will town be?
The upcoming visits listed on this page show the passengers expected on each call and any other ships in port the same day. Town is busiest when several ships are in at once or a large ship arrives at a weekend. A ship carrying a few hundred passengers makes little difference on its own.
Can you sail on it from nearby?
Yes, from Barcelona. Both calls fall during transatlantic crossings from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale: 15 nights from Saturday 31 October 2026 and 14 nights from Sunday 7 November 2027. The ship returns to Barcelona on a 14-night crossing from Fort Lauderdale starting on Sunday 28 March 2027. From April to November 2027 Princess bases it in the Mediterranean, sailing from Barcelona, Civitavecchia for Rome and Piraeus for Athens on cruises of 7 to 32 nights.
