Where can I find genuine job vacancies in Gibraltar?

Question

Accepted Answer

Government and public sector vacancies are published as official notices on the HM Government of Gibraltar website, and the Department of Employment helps registered jobseekers. Private sector roles appear on employers' own websites, through established recruitment agencies and in the local press.
Public sector jobs: HM Government of Gibraltar advertises external vacancies, including roles for Government departments and the Gibraltar Health Authority, as official notices on gibraltar.gov.gi. The Human Resources Department can answer questions about recruitment procedures.
Department of Employment: Based at Unit 75-77 Harbours Walk, New Harbours (telephone 20011000), the Department helps registered unemployed people find work and maintains Gibraltar's employment records. Employers are required to notify the Department of vacancies, which helps give local jobseekers the first opportunity to apply.
Private sector jobs: Look at the careers pages of employers directly, particularly in financial services, online gaming, law, accountancy and hospitality. Established recruitment agencies and the local press, such as the Gibraltar Chronicle, also carry vacancies.
Right to work: Employers can engage people entitled to work in Gibraltar by registering their terms of engagement with the Department of Employment. People who are not entitled need a work permit, which the employer applies for. Check your status before accepting an offer.
Avoiding scams: The Royal Gibraltar Police has warned about fake job adverts on local social media groups, including so-called mystery shopper roles designed to obtain bank details or move stolen money. Be wary of any job that asks for fees, bank details before a proper interview, or asks you to receive and forward money. Verify the employer independently. If you think you have been targeted, contact your bank and report it to the RGP on 200 72500.
