Are there cinemas, bowling or indoor entertainment complexes in Gibraltar?

Short answer

Yes. The King's Bastion Leisure Centre on Line Wall Road houses Gibraltar's cinema (Leisure Cinemas, two screens), ten-pin bowling, an arcade, bouldering, a gym, a children's soft play area and an events arena. It is the main indoor entertainment venue on the Rock.

Detailed answer

King's Bastion Leisure Centre

The centre occupies an 18th-century bastion that was central to the Rock's western sea defences during the Great Siege. It was converted in 2008 and refurbished in 2022. The vault containing the tomb of General Sir Robert Boyd, who built the bastion, was preserved in the foundations.

What is inside

Leisure Cinemas operates two screens (99 and 136 seats) showing current releases. The centre also has ten-pin bowling, arcade games, a bouldering park, a gym, children's soft play, a collectables shop, bars, dining and an events arena. Check current opening times before visiting.

Other indoor options

Theatre and live performance at the John Mackintosh Hall and Ince's Hall, a casino at Ocean Village, and events run by Gibraltar Cultural Services.
