Public charging is available at Midtown car park (Level 6, including a DC fast charger, via the Plug-N-Go app) and at on-street points at Europa Point and Ragged Staff, which were commissioned in July 2026. Some hotels and a fuel station also have chargers listed on charging apps.
Gibraltar's public charging network is small but growing.
Main public locations:
Midtown car park: chargers on Level 6, operated by Plug-N-Go (Gibraltar) Ltd under an agreement with the Government announced on Monday 13 December 2021. They include a DC fast charger. You access them by downloading the Plug-N-Go app for iOS or Android, and payment is pay as you go. Midtown was also the site of the Government's first public charging bays in 2018.
Europa Point: two on-street charging points next to the children's park.
Ragged Staff: one on-street charging point within the Pay and Display zone.
The Europa Point and Ragged Staff points were announced on Monday 20 July 2026. They are clearly signposted with instructions at each point, and the bays are reserved for electric vehicles while they are actively charging.
Other options:
Charging apps such as Open Charge Map, Electromaps and PlugShare list further chargers, including at the Sunborn hotel, The Rock Hotel and the Cepsa fuel station. Some of these require membership or are for customers, so check access and payment before relying on them.
The Ministry of Transport says it will keep monitoring demand to identify further locations as electric vehicle numbers rise.
Tips:
Gibraltar is small, so most visitors driving in from Spain will not need to charge during a day trip.
Check the live status of chargers in an app before setting off, as availability can change.
If you park in a Pay and Display area to charge, normal parking rules still apply.
