How do I register with the GHA as a new Gibraltar resident?

Short answer

Apply to the GHA Registration office or online through the Government eServices portal, showing that you are either paying Gibraltar social insurance contributions or are ordinarily resident in Gibraltar. Incomplete applications are not accepted.

Detailed answer

Who qualifies

Insured persons paying Gibraltar social insurance contributions (and their dependants), and persons ordinarily resident in Gibraltar.

How to apply

  1. Online: GHA Health Card application on the Government eServices portal (eGov account required).
  2. In person: GHA Registration, Monday to Friday, 9am to 12:30pm.

Documents typically required

  • Valid passport or Gibraltar ID card
  • Civilian Registration Card or other evidence of residence
  • Proof of address
  • Proof of up-to-date social insurance contributions
