Detailed answer

Sea Cloud II was built by Astilleros Gondán in Spain and has sailed for Sea Cloud Cruises since 2001. It is a square-rigged barque with 23 sails and about 2,700 square metres of canvas, a length of 117 metres overall, 47 outside cabins for a maximum of 94 guests and a crew of about 65. Its gross tonnage is 3,849. The line sells it as a sailing ship with the comforts of a private yacht. Guests have two Owner's Suites with fireplaces, a lounge with a Steinway grand piano, a library, and a swim platform with watersports equipment and Zodiacs. Announcements and menus are in English and German, and children are welcome, though there is no children's programme.

How busy will town be?

The upcoming visits listed on this page show the passengers expected on each call and any other ships in port the same day. Town is busiest when several ships are in at once or a large ship arrives at a weekend. A ship carrying a few hundred passengers makes little difference on its own.

Can you sail on it from nearby?

Yes. Sea Cloud II sails from Malaga to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from Monday 26 October 2026 for ten nights, and from Lisbon to Tarragona from Wednesday 14 April 2027 for nine nights. A ten-night voyage from Nice ends in Malaga on Tuesday 26 October 2027. Winters are spent in the Caribbean.
